- USR doesn't write much software, just things like their SDL
- program (for Courier's and Sportster Vi with DSVD), their Windows .VXD
- drivers (for the Sportster Winmodem) and then there network managment
- stuff for their Total Control racks (and I couldn't say for sure whether
- or not they write that or contract it out). I suspect that the software
- that contained the above mentioned virus either came from one of the
- Universities computers (after being used on an infected machine, IMO this
- is the most likely source of the virus) or from QuickLink II, which USR
- packages with their modems (but never actualy touches the disks). In any
- case, USR is likely not responsible for the virus.. That being said, a
- resonce like "Hey, prove it man" doesn't suggest particularly good tech
- support to me (assuming the quote is accurate).
